Madhatter's Wonderland Cabaret

PBTo is thrilled to announce that our next immersive literary cabaret is the Madhatter's Wonderland theme!

What's the difference between it being the Madhatter's Wonderland vs Alice within it? Well... a whole lot more Madness, of course.

About Performing Poetry

Gain the Confidence and skills to perform your Poetry anywhere!

Poetry Brothel Toronto Producer and Actor Brendee Green (Madame Titania) invites you to hone your performance skills and gain the confidence you need to perform your poetry anywhere.

Offering a unique array of tools and tricks, this three hour workshop is limited to ten participants to optimise time for feedback and experience. Don't miss out on this unique chance to learn from the Madame herself.

In Performing Poetry I, you will learn techniques to separate the writer from the editor, tools for breaking down your poetry as an actor would a script, and get your work up on its feet to workshop with PBTo producer and Madame Titania/Brendee Green. We are now offering two additional dates in March!

Register to Participate on March 8th

Register to Participate on March 15th

Performing Poetry II

Continue the work and practise from I - this time with a more studio-based approach to performing poetry, including vocal and physical techniques, rehearsal, and performance feedback.

Performing Poetry III, Performing Character

Take your performance to the next level by experimenting with performing your poetry in a character, which you will create and develop throughout the course of the workshop.

What to prepare/bring

Bring a few pieces of your poetry, a notebook, and a water bottle.  Tea will be provided, along with a variety of writing utensils for your use.

For Performing Poetry I: There is no need to memorise your poetry, but if you have a memorised piece you are welcome to bring that along as well.

Please note that, to ensure that all participants are aligned in where the work is, Performing Poetry I will serve as a prerequisite for Performing Poetry II and III, unless you are a seasoned performer.

IKf you would like to register for II or III without having participated in Performing Poetry I, please email poetrybrothel.to@gmail.com, with the subject line "PRO POET" and provide a brief description of your experience performing poetry, either professionally or at open mics. This is to ensure that all participants get the most out of the workshops.

We look forward to seeing your work!
