Villainous: a Halloween Cabaret

At Super Wonder Gallery, audiences luxuriated in the magic and sensuality of our curated performances, and join our growing community of artists and art-loving movers and shakers! The Poetry Brothel’s Villainous was a spicy evening peppered with costumed performers and partygoers, filled with poetry, music, comedy, sensual dancers, and ending with a fantastic dance party hosted by DJ FILM.

The fifth immersive literary cabaret presented by The Poetry Brothel Toronto was a riot!

Pre-show began with a beautiful fan dance by the Last Mermaid, and the stage show commenced with a sung invocation to Hecate, goddess of witches, by Madame Titania. Original music was performed by the illustrious and enchanting JL Callaghan, stories told by returning performer and bad boy Gay Grandpa, and returning poets Talons and Tsuramache offered poems of love and sensuality. Tsuramache, known for her intimate relationship with the elements, had a special treat for all as she invoked the power of the most terrifying of elements... Plus, the start of ACT II had our hearts racing, as Hiraeth and the Priest (JL Callaghan) had us bear witness to the seduction of a Priest by a Succubus Nun. Special guests included the Son of Satan and a Raven named Birdie (Maija McCahery), who greeted all guests with sweet fudge treats and a smile. Finalkly, the night was closed out by a dope dance party with musical offerings by DJ Film (Lindsey Hilliard), dressed as none other than Cat Woman herself. Meow.
